Vigilant K9 believes dog training is not a one size fits all program. We use time tested and proven methods that fit our dogs and clients with the best training approach. We strive to create the ideal dog and human bond through proper communication. Our owner and head trainer attended Starmark School for Dog Trainers in 2014 under Rob Dunn and Jessy Gabriel. Dog trainers working with us are trained directly by our head trainer. They go through 300+ hours of training and shadow time before taking on clients of their own and we are always working towards being the best through seminars and continued learning. We train with lifestyle training - meaning we train the dogs behavior and mindset and then add obedience cues to this. Teaching a dog how to live in our human world gives us a better relationship and understanding of each other then just teaching obedience cues.Throughout our programs you will learn how to give your dog the best lifestyle and in turn create the best relationship with your dog.
We want to work with owners who are highly motivated to meet the goals they have for their dogs. We believe dogs deserve that - because of this Vigilant K9 does have an application process for getting into our programs. Click the button below to learn about our process.

Toby, our eight month old golden doodle spent two weeks with Vigilant K9 to work on his off the leash/loose leash training. He came home a totally different dog! He now obeys commands without relying on treats, respects thresholds and walks like a total ROCKSTAR. We would have never trusted our dog outside without a leash before his training - now he stays by our side with no difficulty. We are also particularly impressed with his "place" training. He is able to hang out on a designated "place" while we are having dinner or with guests around with no problems. We were updated daily with pictures and videos of his progress which made the two weeks without our sweet boy much easier. Allison seriously knows her stuff and was naturally very easy to trust with our dog. We were very pleased with our experience with Vigilant K9! Definitely recommend.

Allison was great in helping us realize that our strong willed husky Shadow can be trained. Her class helped us know the "tricks" to get Shadow to do what we wanted her to do at least on her terms 100% reccomend this class to anyone with dogs.

If you’re looking for a trainer that is knowledgeable of dog behavior, individualizes training to your dog’s needs, flexible with your schedule, and also teaches you as the owner (which is so important too!), you’ve come to the right place! Allison has done WONDERS for both of our Golden’s. Our 4-year-old retriever was having destructive behavior due to his separation anxiety when he was one. With Allison’s help we were able to get rid of those behaviors, achieve his CGC certification, and train him to be a therapy dog. We started training with Allison super early with our newest golden and we are so happy we did! She is now 7 months old and our hopes is to get her CGC and therapy dog certified. We have loved working with Allison so much! She is truly a dog whisperer and our pups LOVE her. I highly recommend her, you won’t be disappointed!
