What to expect:
throughout your training program you will be making choices for your dogs training journey. Each dog is an individual, each person knows how they want to see their relationship with their dog. Vigilant K9 works to help guide you and your dog to a mutual understanding.
Private Lessons:
During your private lesson program you will work with oe of our trainers towards your goal, your first lesson is all about getting to know you and your dog, going over how dogs learn, understanding canine body language, going over training theories, and gear and fitting you and your dog to what works best. Depending on how this first lesson goes you will then be emailed links containing gear that would work best for your dog for you to purchase if desired (gear costs on average $15 - $250 depending on individual dogs and training style choice)
Most dogs thrive with a 30 min lesson length - however we can discuss upgrading to a 45 min or 60 min lesson length.
As with anything dog related consistency is key, All of our programs allow for 1 reschedule request, we typically book our programs out a ways and to many reschedule requests will impeede on another clients start time. After the 1st reschedule any additional requests will be deemed as a canceled lesson (no refunds).
Stay and Train:
Each dog is an individual and we want to train them with the style that works best for them and you. During their stay and train your dog will be assessed for various training styles and how they thrive in learning. End of your dogs stay you will get an email going over your dogs learning style, what gear they have been using with us, and links containing where you can purchase the same gear if you so choose. (gear costs on average $15-$250 depending on individual dogs and learning style)
You will be kept up to date via text or email on the progress of your dog as well as photo and video updates - we also share a lot of progress videos and photos on our social media channels.
Follow ups: We want you and your dog to be a success! We will work with you on follow ups and the amount of follow ups each team needs to feel confident in their dogs new abilities. These do not expire and are unlimited - HOWEVER training must be upkept by you the owner for these to take place - trainers MAY give our homework that needs to be completed and shared for progress before scheduling the next follow up.
Each weekend your dog will go home with you to practice their skills at home e. This helps with transitioning training and gives owners a chance to practice with their dogs and ask any questions they have after working with their dog! (All drop offs are scheduled for Sunday evenings between 6PM and 8PM all Pick ups are scheduled for Friday evenings between 4PM-5:30PM)
Training program will not be considered booked until non-refundable deposit received. $400
While our programs are non-refundable once payment is made - if timing does not work for you or something comes up we will offer to move that payment to an additional spot within 12 months before starting. We are looking for dedicated owners to be apart of our training programs - and we do not recommend taking training with us lightly. We will give you all that we can to make sure you are successful with your dog AS WELL AS offer lifetime training support for your dog. We want you and your dog to SUCCEED and will do everything in our power to ensure you do just that, even years down the road. Training takes dedication, time, and consistency. With our stay and train options once training is completed we will expect you to put in your effort to keep that training going (you will get an extensive program to put in place at home after training to help set the new at home tone right off the bat). Because training results will rely heavily on the consistency and at home training commitment we DO NOT guarantee results, what we will guarantee is the support needed to see the results you want and need to see with your dog. We WILL NOT issue refunds for training however we WILL work with you in anyway we can to ensure your results are satisfactory to your expectations! Training is a team effort and we want to be with you ever step of the way!
We will credit your account for up to 12 months unless discussed with VK9 for additional options. We will also allow a one time change of program to use your credit towards. - please remember this is apart of our lively hood and we must keep our policies in place to keep VK9 running smoothly and professionally.
Waivers and agreements
General Agreement: In consideration of the acceptance of this registration, and the holding of classes or lessons, and the opportunity to have the dog participate, I agree to hold Vigilant K9 LLC, and all trainers, independent contractors, employees, assistance, or apprentices, the premises upon which the classes and lessons are to be held, harmless from any claim for the loss or injury, both direct and indirect, to any person or thing by any act of dog or person while in or upon the premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto. I personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim. I further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim of loss of this dog. I hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expenses, including legal fees, by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage and expenses. THIS IS A NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-CANCELABLE REGISTRATION ONCE PAID. ALL LESSONS MUST BE USED WITHIN 3 MONTHS OF PURCHASE DATE, 24 HOUR NOTICE IS REQUIRED IF NEEDED TO RESCHEDULE PACKAGE. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN CANCELLATION OF THE LESSON WITH NO REFUND OR MAKEUP SESSION OF THE MISSED PACKAGE. BEING MORE THAN 20 MIN LATE WITHOUT COMMUNICATING WITH US IS CONSIDERED A NO SHOW AND CANCELATION. IF A KNOWN MEDICAL CONDITION IS NOT DISCLOSED AHEAD OF TIME AND CAUSES THE DOG TO BE UNABLE TO FINISH LESSONS, WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE PROGRAM (note: if the medical condition has been disclosed and trainer has agreed to still take the dog an agreement will be made to make up the board and train once the dog is able)
Enrolling in program (paid invoice) completes waiver and general agreement
Media Release: I agree to let Vigilant K9 use any photos/videos taken for training/promotional posts to social media sites, including but not limited to facebook/instagram/twitter.
Enrolling in program (Paid Invoice) is in agreement with Vigilant K9s media and travel (VK9 does take dogs on field trips for training programs) release
